January 2016

2016

January was a BUSY month for us, and it was definitely a fun one: )

We snapped some photos of the cousins before Indigo and Lisa headed back to London.

We also celebrated Nick's 35th birthday at his parents' house!
We had a yummy dinner, and those of us who weren't sleeping watched the Chiefs.

Hudson also spent some cold evenings painting.

Mama with Chin Hair
(HAHAHAHA.)

Daddy with a Green Load of Laundry
(HAHAHAHA.)

CG still didn't like the bath much.
We started putting them into the bath every night,
and sometimes he would play for a minute or two before crying.
He even let me make him a horn one night before he started screaming!

One cold morning we went to the Natural History Museum!

Our biggest event in January was Hudson's 4th birthday!

When we asked Hudson what he wanted to do for his birthday, he requested the same events from his 3rd birthday...so that is what he got: )

We had a family pizza party, and Hudson was SOOOOO excited! He requested a chocolate cake with M & M's, but he didn't want icing on his piece. HAHAHA.

The marble track from Lisa, Dave, and Indigo was one of his favorites!

One last sleep as a 3 year old!

Before we left for Hudson's birthday festivities, he opened his present from us...
a tablet!

We went to Kansas City!

Our first stop was the candy shop: )

We made our way to Fritz's next!

Our last stop was Union Station!

January was also filled with...

meal prep

slumber parties

yogi

naps

smiles

snuggles

friends

weight lifting

prepping for Valentine's Day

food

TRAINS!!!

family breakfast / playing at McDonald's

Eagle Day

STEM night

snoozes

...and wine.

Mother's Day 2016

"What I like about photographs is that they capture a moment that's gone forever, impossible to reproduce."

It may appear that I've stopped blogging, but I haven't. I'm just behind. Really behind.

For a while, I felt stuck because I fell so far behind, but then I decided it really doesn't matter if I post the photos out of order or forget to say something that I meant to say. I'm blogging for me. It gives me a chance to review the many, many photos I have taken in an attempt to document these little boys.

As I create each post, I get to travel back to each moment. Once there, I try to remember everything about it. I don't want to forget the smell of my stinky little boys, and I don't want to forget their smiles and laughs. I hope that documenting our time together and reviewing these memories will help keep it all fresh in my mind for years to come.

I know that someday this blog may disappear or that nobody will look at it, but for now, I'm going to continue on...
