2 Years - 48 Weeks - The First Week as Brothers

Hudson and Colby enjoyed their first week as brothers -
and Hudson even asked to hold Colby a few times: )

A few of our moments this week:

"See! The train goes through the rock tunnel,"
Hudson explained to Colby as they played trains for the first time.

(Hudson has really been enjoying this special time with Nick before bed - love them!)

2 Years - 47 Weeks - Baby Brother!

Going back through these pictures and writing about this instantly brings tears to my eyes! I anticipated this moment for months, and it was truly amazing! I will never forget these brothers meeting for the first time <3

I'll write more about Baby Brother soon, but this post is just about Hudson meeting Colby at the hospital.

Hudson stayed with Grandma and Grandpa Adams while I was in the hospital with the baby. Until those three nights, I'd only been away from Hudson for one night at a time (and probably fewer than 10 nights in his whole little life!). I missed him SO much and could not wait to see him!

We decided that he should go to daycare as usual and then come to visit after his day at Marilyn's. Claire took some pictures for us, and I love ALL of them!

Nick went to the lobby to meet Hudson, and they rode up in the elevator. Hudson LOVES elevators, and he was SO excited on his ride up to my room on the third floor!

He had the BIGGEST smile on his face when he came in the room, but he seemed sort of shy at the same time. We were SO happy to see each other: )

These two pics really bring it all back!

After Hudson saw Colby, he said, "Let's go home!"

Around this time, Hudson said, "He likes me!" <3 <3 <3
I had - obviously - started to cry by this point!

Hudson carefully held Colby for the first time...

...and he helped me count Colby's toes!

Look at that smile - SO sweet!

Claire snapped a few other pictures, too...

2 Years - 46 Weeks - A Busy Evening / Waiting for Baby Brother

This was our last week as a family of three! It was kind of a bonus week because Baby Brother was due 12/2 and didn't show up until a week later! While I was HUGE and exhausted at the time, I'm glad that I was able to join Hudson and Nick for these last few moments: )

12/3 - A Busy Evening

First, we went to the KU Bookstore for the holiday extravaganza!

Hudson was a little bit shy at first and hid from Big Jay in my dress! After some high fives, he LOVED Big Jay! He even chased Big Jay through the store: )

After his visit with Big Jay, he waited in line to visit with Santa! He did a GREAT job, and he told Santa that he wanted "trucks, trains, tunnels, and train tracks."

After we left the bookstore, we went to Hudson's last gymnastics class! The boys had "so much fun" in this class! They didn't always listen to directions or try all of the activities, but they enjoyed being together and expending some energy: ) Their little faces were SO cute as they received their certificates! They seemed so excited and proud - love them!

Waiting for Baby Brother

The last week or so before Baby Brother joined us were a little rough because Hudson was sick twice: ( He even threw up for the first time EVER! I was terrified that I'd get sick and/or that Hudson wouldn't be well enough to come to the hospital. Luckily, neither of those things happened!

When he wasn't sick, he spent the last week before Baby's arrival hanging out with Arlo, pretending to be a pirate, and...you guessed it...playing trains!
