Little Bubba,

My oh my! Eight months already!?! I can barely keep up with you and all of your growing!

This month you started rolling all over the floor, and each day you improved at sitting. You started pulling up on me ALL THE TIME, and then you started pulling up in your crib, too! You look SO cute when you stand up, but it scares me! I'm not ready for you to be running all around, and I know it will be here before we know it!

You have also been talking a lot: ba-ba-ba-ba, ma-ma-ma-ma, and - your favorite - da-da-da-da. As much as I hate dropping you off at daycare, I do enjoy listening to you talk on the way there and on the way home. You like to look at the warning label on your car seat, and you have a special conversation with it as I watch you in the rearview mirror. You also like to smile and giggle in the car while I sing "Hudson Bobarino Tino Tino" to you: )

You love, love, love to be outside, and you went with me on a lot of runs this month: ) One day we even ran from our house all the way to campus for a KU tailgate - over 6 miles! You never really fuss in your stroller; sometimes you fall asleep, but usually your are content and enjoy looking around or enjoy chewing on a toy.

Speaking of toys, this month you really started to interact with your toys more purposefully. You like to look things over as if you are trying to figure out how it works or what it will do. Then, you usually try to figure out how to fit it in your mouth; ) You love toys that blink or light up, and you especially love anything that you can chew on! Sometimes you even bang your toys together!

You enjoyed reading your library books this month, especially Big Dog and Little Dog Wearing Sweaters. You always seem engaged in the books, and we read each book a few times. The first time we read a book, you like to watch. The second time we read it, you like to touch the pages. The third time we read it, you try to put it in your mouth; )

We still didn't get a lot of sleep this month - and I've been trying to look at it as more time we get to spend together; ) We have a pretty structured routine, and most nights you go to sleep without too much trouble...but then you wake up several times to nurse or hang out in the night. Daddy and I usually get up at least three times! Maybe you will let us sleep more next month!

I could go on and on. I think you are incredible, and I can't wait to see what next month - and all the months and years to come - have in store for you. I am so proud of you. Thank you for making me feel complete.

I love you.

Mama

I can't end this post without a few pictures of sweet Arlo! I hung out with him one day while Claire was at work. It was a blast to be with a little guy again, and I was especially happy that he shared his new smile with me; )
