Our first family vacation was just about perfect! We went to North Carolina to visit my grandparents. Nick and I went in 2008, 2010, and 2011 - and I've been going since I was just a few years old - but this was our first vacation as a family of three!
A family vacation is always special, but this family vacation will always hold an extra special place among my memories. Hudson met his great-grandparents (my dad's parents - a.k.a. Grandmom and Granddad) for the first time, and the meeting felt particularly special to me as I was filled with pride to introduce my sweet baby to my loving grandparents.
This vacation was also a much-needed getaway for Nick and for me. Nick started a new job just as I went back to the office full time, and family life had been more than bit hectic as we tried to navigate our new schedule! Vacation in NC always ensures that we will relax and have some fun!
To relax, we visited with my grandparents, went for some walks, spent more time in bed than we normally do, and watched movies! I also didn't bother to blow dry my hair or take too much time getting ready: )
For fun, we wandered around Tryon, attended a live concert as part of the Summer Tracks Concert Series, took a trip to Asheville for Bele Chere (a music and arts festival), played on Granddad's bed, shared some delicious meals (including dessert after dinner and lunch!) with my grandparents, and took a swim in Grandmom and Granddad's pool!
I wish I had time to detail every minute of this trip, but I know that if I try I will never finish this post: ( Instead, I will share our pictures from each day!

I have been so lucky to have all four of my grandparents in my life for almost 30 years! I am so thankful for all of the time I have been able to spend with them, and I am happy that Hudson has been able to meet them all.
As you can see, he is pretty happy about it, too: )

Love him! Where did you find the tie bibs?
Looks like you guys had a blast at your grandparents! We actually were just looking into a Gatlinburg vacation home rental. We love Tennessee plus we can see half of our family while on vacation! Thanks so much for sharing your pictures!
