wine-box ceremony?

A few months ago, Claire (maidzilla - ha!) mentioned that some of Adam's friends had a wine-box ceremony at their wedding. I was intrigued because I think I may want to do something different than a unity candle, and we do have a wine theme goin' on. I also like the idea of writing each other letters because we have written many, many letters over the years.

Check out this blog that outlines the process -

Here are some other ceremonies that some people do. I do not think we can have wine at the ceremony though, so keeping the bottle closed may be our best bet...

a few things...

Well...I bought a camera: ) I found the Canon Powershot SD1100-IS Silver ~ 8 MP Digital ELPH Camera w/ 3x Optical Zoom at Wal-Mart for $169. I am hoping to fall in love with it just in time to take it as my date to Becky's wedding: )

Seriously!?! How cute is this...

I like the hair on the bottom left...

photographers??

We may have found our photographers (cross your fingers!!!). At the bridal show, I ran into Zach and Sarah from Zach Henderson Photography. I had looked at their website and blog, and I was pleasantly surprised when we stumbled upon their booth at the end our day! Their booth was SUPER creative! They had printed pictures they had taken spread out all over the table, and they had a video slideshow of pictures that they had taken on Saturday! I spoke with Zach for several minutes, and Mom talked to Sarah. They are getting married in May - so they definitely understand all the wedding talk!

I have been emailing with them since that night, and we are meeting next Sunday! We're super excited!!

Here are a few of my favorites:

April and Javier's Wedding

A few weeks ago, I went to April and Javier's wedding. It was AMAZING!

Ever since April was little, she wanted a castle for her wedding cake - she even had a magzine cut-out that she had saved for years! Her aunt made her this spectacular cake:

Aren't they beautiful!?!

Congratulations!!!

Busy weekend!

Here are some pics from the weekend! Details to follow...

Friday
Sixth hour was cancelled for the homecoming parade, so I went home at 2pm to pick up Callie. We had a blast walking with the other dogs, and she was well-behaved!
After the parade, I went to the gym and showered, and then I went to dinner at Carlos and went to the LFS homecoming game with Nick. When we arrived home...
Callie's face was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO swollen! We were terrified and felt SO stupid having to page the vet on a Friday night. We think a snake bit her! She was sick ALL weekend!

Saturday
Nick and I woke early on Saturday and went to KC with Mom for the Alzheimer's Memory Walk. We overheard someone say that this year there were twice as many people as last year! I hope that we can continue to walk each year. It felt good to be surrounded by people who understand what it is like to love someone with Alzheimer's.

Nick and I watched KU come back against Iowa State, and then we were supposed to go with Judy and Butch to a surprise party. We ended up not going because Callie was SO SO SO sick: ( We rented 88 Minutes. I liked it!

Sunday
On Sunday, Mom and I went to the Perfect Wedding Guide Bridal Show. I called SJ last minute to see if she wanted to go, and she did! It was SO fun to wander around with them! I was a little (okay, a lot!) overwhelmed by all of the booths, but I am glad that we went. I picked up a lot of info, and I enjoyed seeing what is available these days. And...we booked a DJ - Brett from Complete Music - he is AWESOME!!

Oh yeah. Mom ran into Barack on our way out: ) HEHE.

Overall, it was a good weekend. I did have TONS of school stuff to do on Sunday night, but I made it through the week...

Callie's new collar!

Nick and I bought Callie a new collar. She looks so cute! She was full of energy, and she wouldn't sit still! I had to convince her to "stay" with some peanut butter. This is her awkward, waiting-patiently face:Then, she had to finish her peanut butter...
play with her old collar...
and lick my "bling"...
